About Us

Two Sisters, Two Continents, One Passion

vegan sisters- This is Vegan Sisters Apparel

Vegan Sisters Apparel was created from a place of love, for the planet’s creatures and natural world. Founded by two vegan sisters, the brand aims to spread a message of love, compassion and kindness for all living beings. The two sisters are passionate about creating a positive change in a world where they see too much cruelty, exploitation and destruction.

The brand creates wearable artwork to spread the message and start the conversation. They navigate the challenges of running a business from two different continents, one based in South Africa and one in Australia, with their joint passion for veganism as the driving force.

GET TO KNOW THE BRAND

  1. Design

Vegan Designed

Keen to promote local talent, the apparel brand partners with local vegan artists to create wearable artwork to spread the vegan message, spark interest and hopefully start many positive conversations.

  1. Production

Ethically Produced

Aiming to be an ethical brand is not just about the animals. Ensuring that human life is valued within the manufacturing process is key to the brand. The garments are ethically produced by a local seamstress to promote transparency within the production chain. This ensures good working conditions, and a living wage for those producing the garments, and supports the local manufacturing industry.

Small Batch Production

Overproduction is a huge problem within the fashion industry. Each VSA piece is produced in small amounts to avoid excessive production waste.

Non-Animal Inks

All garments are printed in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal using non-animal inks.

  1. Quality Focused

Every VSA piece is created with love using the highest quality fabric and production methods, so it lasts well beyond one season.

  1. Sustainability

While the brand has a long way to go to becoming carbon neutral, sustainability is a focus. Their most recent T-shirt was created from recycled fabric – three plastic bottles were recycled to make each T-shirt. The recycled fabric is locally manufactured, diverting waste from landfill and once again supports the South African manufacturing industry. They’re also working hard to introduce organic cotton to their range, as it has much less environmental impact. Local production of their products also reduces the carbon footprint, eliminating the need to transport the garments from overseas.

The brand aims to spread the vegan message as far and wide as they can, while at the same time creating unique pieces that can be valued by wearers for years to come.
